Tree planting in Petrana was carried out by the Vice-Mayor of the Environment of the Municipality of Kozani and the Department of Greenery in collaboration with the non-profit organization We4all, with the support of the employees of the Environment Department of PPC and the assistance of the students of the Primary School and Kindergarten of Petrana, on Thursday 30 March 2023.
The area of 13 acres was strengthened with 300 trees, as after the appropriate formation, the students along with the teachers of the Primary School and the Kindergarten, the president of the Community, Sakis Athanasiou and the employees of PPC, led by its director of the Environment Branch of the Lignite Center of Western Macedonia, Tryfona Barba, carried out the tree planting.

The non-profit organization We4all really helped, while its partners contributed to the perfect completion of the tree planting. PPC was the sponsor of the young plants.
The Petrana Community will maintain the plants during the summer, with the support of We4all.
In the context of the sustainable management of urban greenery, the Green Department of the Municipality of Kozani with its specialized staff implements actions, plans, programs and organizes events with conscious volunteers, so that there is continuity and completion of each intervention.
The primary concern of the Vice-Mayor of the Environment is the rational development of greenery with the aim of upgrading the quality of life.
