The 6th High School of Kozani participated in the 2nd International Student Conference in Florence on the topic of “Cultural Heritage and Environmental Crisis”, as an ambassador of the Municipality of Kozani.

The conference was held under the auspices of the European Parliament, the Municipality of Florence, the Holy Metropolis of Italy and the Exarchate of Southern Europe and the Greek Consulate in Florence. ELEMASYN – International Student Conferences implements conferences every year, hosted in former Cultural Capitals of Europe.

A group of 51 students, accompanied by the director of the school, Maria Vatali, the vice-principal Dimitris Dallas, as well as the teachers Magda Asteriou and Eleftheria Anagnostaki, presented the objectives of the Municipality of Kozani regarding the environment.

The students, as ambassadors of Kozani, focused during their presentation on the Municipality’s goal of achieving climate neutrality and complete carbon neutrality.

Both Kozani and Florence joined the Mission of the 100 climate-neutral and smart cities of Europe by 2030.

The participation in the conference was an unforgettable experience for students and teachers, with the tour of Tuscany – Bologna, Florence, Pisa, Siena, Lucca, San Gimignano – as well as the visit to Agios Vitalios in Ravenna, complementing this unique visit to Italy.
