A workshop on “Climate Neutrality – Mobility and Transport”, organized by the Municipality of Kozani and the Cluster of Bioeconomy & Environment of Western Macedonia – CLUBE, on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at the Koventareios Municipal Library of Kozani.

The workshop, which took place in the framework of the creation of the climate contract of the Municipality of Kozani, was attended by representatives of agencies, businesses and companies.

In his introduction, the mayor of Kozani, Lazaros Maloutas, underlined that “We must realize that the whole planet is moving towards climate neutrality. The UN with the conferences, Europe with the Green Deal, Greece with de-lignitization.

Our own initiative to be a pioneer on this path, i.e. to achieve climate neutrality and digital transformation in less than a decade, requires a huge effort and significant resources.

At the same time, it shapes the new development model of the region and with its implementation will contribute to the development of the place and the inflow of financial resources.

We will all win from this effort. The Municipality, businesses, citizens”.

The workshop was moderated by the member of the Committee of Experts for “100 Climate Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030” and former Deputy Mayor of Vienna, Maria Vassilakou.

During the workshop, a general presentation of the Climate Agreement took place, while proposals for mobility and transport were also presented, in the context of the co-design of the proposal of the Municipality of Kozani with the involved bodies.
