Upgrading the services for the citizens, implementing sustainable environmental policies, ensuring security and resilience against natural threats, as well as cyber threats, are the main issues of discussion at the annual international conference of the Major Cities of Europe Network, which takes place between 2-4 of November, in Larissa.

The Conference is organized for the first time in Greece, by the Municipality of Larissa and the Major Cities of Europe Network and is under the auspices of the Ministries of the Interior, Digital Governance and Tourism, the Region of Thessaly, EOT, KEDE, PED of Thessaly, KLEISTHENI, e-trikala, CIVINET network and SEPE.

The mayor of Kozani, Lazaros Maloutas, participated in the thematic section “European Mission 100 Climate Neutral Cities”, which was coordinated by the European Commission’s expert on climate neutral cities and former deputy mayor of Vienna, Maria Vasilakou. In his presentation, Mr. Maloutas analyzed the proposal of the Municipality of Kozani for Climate Neutrality by 2030.

The conference addresses to elected officials and executives of Municipalities who take or participate in the design and development of innovative solutions and services, representatives of high-tech companies as well as academics and students of Administration and Economics, Spatial Planning and IT and Communication Technologies and to those who are interested generally for the transformation and development of cities.

The Major Cities of Europe Network is an association of European – and beyond – cities and regions, committed to the innovation of citizen services, leveraging information and communication technologies.
