The investigation of the terms for the “green” operation of district heating was the central theme of the information meeting held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, in the “Koventario” hall.
The meeting was attended by the mayor of Kozani, Lazaros Maloutas, the director of the PPP Service of the Ministry of Finance, Nikos Sergis, the executive of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Maria Tzanidaki, as well as representatives of Niras International Consulting, which is a consultant for the preparation of the Pre-Feasibility Study-PPP District Heating in the Region of Western Macedonia. Also, the president of DEYAK, Kostas Kytidis, as well as the director of Kozani District Heating, Vassilis Panousis, attended the process.
The representatives of Niras presented the results of the study they prepared regarding the investigation of the technical conditions that will make the “greening” of district heating viable. The research studied the existing situation, the needs, as well as the technical scenarios, so that the project could proceed to the next stage.
The municipal authority makes every effort, so that the district heating is led to a “green” operation and independence from fossil fuels, so that the citizens are not burdened with carbon dioxide taxes, and continue to enjoy the district heating.
