One more step for the reduction of CO2 emissions and the achievement of the goal of climate neutrality by 2030 is made by the Municipality of Kozani, with the installation of an integrated system for renting electric bicycles.
After the inclusion of “Sustainable micro-mobility through a system of shared bicycles in Municipalities of the country”, in the Operational Program “Transport Infrastructure, Environment and Sustainable Development 2014-2020” the Municipality of Kozani strengthens environmentally friendly transportation.
A network of 45 electric bicycles with 3 lease terminals will be developed, aiming at a complete set of provided services and means, which will effectively contribute to the improvement of the transportations of micro mobility.
The projects that will be implemented, concern;
• The supply of electric bicycles for public use in the city
• The creation of a network of spots to use for locking and charging a bicycle, providing the possibility of automatically charging the bicycle while it is locked
• The implementation of an integrated platform for the remote management of electric bicycle chargers and bicycle rental stations
• Integrated web and mobile applications for the Micromobility services
• Integrated management platform for services and data Micromobility with appropriate software and hardware equipment
The budget is 380,000 euros.
