Horizon Europe: The Municipality of Kozani in the “Just Streets” program with the object of “Just” mobility & accessibility!<\/span><\/p>\n

“Just” mobility and the improvement of accessibility for all people, and especially for vulnerable, is the subject of the proposal in which the Municipality of Kozani participates as a partner and was approved for funding from the European Horizon Europe Program, for a total amount of 6.9 million euro.<\/span><\/p>\n

The “Just Streets” project is about strengthening mobility with environmentally friendly means and improving the accessibility of vulnerable social groups in the urban area.<\/span><\/p>\n

The aim of the actions is to reduce the emissions resulting from the citizens\u2019 mobility within the cities and to achieve safe mobility.<\/span><\/p>\n

The project aims to change traditional modes of mobility, putting people at the center of the transport system, highlighting the reclaiming of space and spatial “justice” with the help of new technologies and more inclusive and sustainable innovative modes of mobility.<\/span><\/p>\n

The city of Kozani and 11 other cities (Westminster, Zaragoza, Milan, London, Vilnius, Groningen, Braga, Haifa, Riga, Vratsa and Kucir) are invited to develop pilot solutions aimed at transforming the traditional mobility models they have in focus on people.<\/span><\/p>\n

In this endeavour, the municipalities will be supported by a set of partners including the Polytechnic University of Turin, the University of Westminster, the University of Amsterdam, the University of Porto, the Israel Institute of Technology, the Italian RINA, the International Federation of Pedestrians, TREDIT transport consultants based in Thessaloniki et al.<\/span><\/p>\n

Among the pilot actions that will be developed by the Municipality of Kozani are the development of a fleet of electric bicycles mainly for vulnerable social groups, the planning of school trips by bicycle, a digital mobility platform based on a GIS system, leisure routes and access to the shopping center for people with disabilities, etc. .a.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to the transformative impact on society, the actions are expected to contribute to the reduction of emissions, the improvement of daily mobility of vulnerable social groups and the saving of resources.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
