[et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”4.14.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.14.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.14.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.14.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]The Municipality of Kozani acquired four new garbage trucks, biowaste bins and compost bins, for the development and sustainable management of separate Sorting at Source (SoS) programs for municipal biowaste, with the implementation of the Act \u201cDevelopment of separate collection systems for recyclable waste and biowaste and promotion of domestic composting in the Municipality of Kozani.<\/p>\n
Specifically, the Municipality of Kozani received:<\/p>\n
– two (2) garbage trucks with a press type compression system, with a capacity of 12.0 m3<\/sup><\/p>\n – two (2) garbage trucks with press type compression system with a capacity of 8,0 m3<\/sup><\/p>\n – four hundred (400) brown bio-waste temporary storage bins with a capacity of 240lt<\/p>\n – two hundred (200) brown bio-waste temporary storage bins with a capacity of 360 lt<\/p>\n – fifty (50) brown bio-waste temporary storage bins with a capacity of 660lt<\/p>\n – one thousand (1000) kitchen type brown bins for temporary storage of bio-waste with a capacity of 10lt, (will be distributed in the context of public awareness actions for the separate sorting of biowaste)<\/p>\n – one hundred (100) compost bins (will be distributed in the context of public awareness actions for the separate sorting of biowaste and the promotion of composting)<\/p>\n The procurement is covered by the Municipality\u2019s own funds and by the Operational Program “Transport Infrastructure, Environment and Sustainable Development”, of the priority Axis: 14 “Preservation and Protection of the Environment – promotion of Efficient use of Resources “, co-financed by the Cohesion Fund entitled “Biowaste Management Actions”.<\/p>\n The goal of the Municipality of Kozani is to:<\/p>\n – \u00a0improve the biowaste collection, sorting\/transport system<\/p>\n – \u00a0motivate citizens to further participate in Sorting at Source programs<\/p>\n – \u00a0reduce the collection quantities of mixed waste in the green bin and, consequently, keep \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0the cost of domestic waste management constant or even reduce it<\/p>\n In the next period, the Municipality of Kozani will extend the Sorting at Source Program for domestic biowaste, which is being piloted the last years in the districts of \u200b\u200bPlatania, Ag.
