“The challenge is in front of us. Together we are shaping the Kozani of tomorrow and our common future”, underlined the Mayor of Kozani, Lazaros Maloutas, in his speech. The moderator of the workshop, Professor of the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering of the Polytechnic School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, George Karagiannidis, stated \u201cIf Kozani is included in the \u2018100 climate neutral and smart cities by 2030\u2019, it will become a completely new city. In 2030 we will have brand new Kozani\u201d.<\/p>\n
The current situation, as well as the opportunities and prospects of the Municipality of Kozani were presented by the Assistant Professor of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Western Macedonia, Nikos Ploskas.<\/p>\n
It is noted that the workshop was organized and held with the support of the Cluster of Bioeconomy and Environment of Western Macedonia (CluBE).<\/p>\n
The topic-specific workshop was attended by officials of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, the University of Western Macedonia, the \u201cDiazoma\u201d Association, Kozani\u2019s Primary and Secondary Education, the Regional Directorate of Education of Western Macedonia, as well as the Municipalty\u2019s Department of Information and Communication Technologies. Also, members of the \u00abapoDimos\u00bb network, the working group that developed the Strategic Plan “Kozani-Smart City”, as well as IT and communication companies participated in the workshop.<\/p>\n
