Citizens will be able to recycle used cooking oil in special green ATMs, utilizing the new, innovative, clean and easy to use system of separate collection of used cooking oil.<\/p>\n
The first ATM, placed at \u201cPlatania\u201d district, was presented to citizens, \u03bfn the afternoon of Thursday November \u00a05th\u00a0<\/sup>2021 during a special event.<\/p>\n The recycling program enables the collection of cooking oil in special green containers, which will then be collected in the special green ATMs, placed in neighborhoods of the city.<\/p>\n This initiative is implemented in the framework of the project \u201cIn2UCO \u2013 Integrated innovative pilot management of frying oil with the participation of citizens and students\u201d funded by the Green Fund, and implemented by the Municipality of Kozani, DIADYMA S.A. and the Cluster of Bioeconomy and Environment of Western Macedonia (CluBE).<\/p>\n Using DIADYMA S.A. digital services, citizens can register in the cooking oil collection reward program, on the online platform\u00a0cookingoils.diadyma.gr\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0and receive the special barcode stickers with unique user codes.<\/p>\n Cooking oil is an extremely polluting household waste, responsible for a variety of problems in soil, aquatic ecosystems, sewage systems and biological treatment. Its environmentally oriented management requires its separate collection and delivery to certified companies for further treatment and utilization.<\/p>\n In this direction, the Municipality of Kozani, is planning to achieve climate neutrality by 2030, which is reflected in the Declaration of Climate Neutrality \u201cKozani 2030 \u2013 A Green and Smart City\u201d.<\/p>\n
